Now time for the Report Card πŸ˜€

Yays:

  • Gorgeous color
  • Attractive packaging-I especially like the metallic-steel screw cap
  • Good quantity

Marks & Spencer Pampering Cocoa Butter Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream Review

17 Sep

Whew! the name is quite a mouthful eh? πŸ™‚

So, what happens when you walk in a renowned store like M&S and ask for a Cocoa Butter body butter and are instead handed a cocoa butter hand cream? Do you laugh? scream? smile at the SA’s mistake?Β  Read further to know what I did…..

M&S pampering cocoa butter moisturising hand and nail cream

When I asked for a travel size cocoa butter body butter from an M&S SA, she quickly handed me the cocoa butter hand and nail cream. Good for me I checked the label and spotted the mistake. I actually wanted to give her a piece of my mind because first, she is an SA for a coveted store and should know what she is handing to a customer and secondly, this cream is strictly meant to be used for hands and nails-probably too harsh for the facial skin?

But to my surprise I actually smiled (moi-smile at a mistake??? πŸ˜› ) and politely asked her to get the body butter for me. Sadly, the ‘desired product’ was unavailable (hmph!) but still I went ahead and bought this little tube.

A blob of the cream

Blended

This was the first time I was using a hand cream as generally the skin on my hands remain supple throughout the year. But as the season was changing the skin around my nails had developed ‘splinters’ . Honestly, I wasn’t hoping to see any ‘special’ effect of this cream. But I did use this product religiously for a week and to my surprise I discovered the splinters had gone leaving a smooth skin around my nails! What’s more, this cream had pushed the cuticle nicely to their ‘designated’ place so my nails looked nice and neat πŸ™‚

And so the little mistake got me a new product that actually worked!

Price: Rs. 199/- for 50 ml.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Paraffinum Liquidum, Ceteareth-20, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100, Stearate, Sorbitol, Parfum, Polysorbate 20, Benzophenone-3, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Propylene lycol, PEG -40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Sodium Hydroxide, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Fruit Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa), Seed Extract, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl, Ionone, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, ButylparabenΒ Β  (Whew!)

So now here’s the Report Card:

Yays:

  • The cream has a soft, buttery texture
  • It absorbs easily
  • Flip top pack, easy to carry
  • The product actually works!

Nays:

  • Contains Parabens 😦
  • BORING packaging-the design reminds me of pictures from old English text books!

Score:

4.5/5

Would I buy it again?
Probably, yes.

Have you used Marks and Spencer hand and nail cream ? Do share your comments and suggestions in the box below. Thanks for reading, bye for now πŸ™‚

First ever product review-L’oreal Paris Color Riche Le Vernis no. 613 Blue Reef

12 Sep

Hi beautiful people,

So here’s my first ever ‘beauty’ product review-the super glamorous L’oreal Paris color riche le vernis -just the name is so gorgeous so it is alright to have high expectations from it. So read on to find out more…

I had read about these new ‘species’ of nail polish in another beauty blog and after checking out a few pictures I zeroed on my favourite color-teal.

Here’s what L’oreal Paris has to say about these nail paints:

With a formula that combines rich pigments, pearlescents and optical effects, L’OrΓ©al Paris Colour Riche Le Vernis offers an extensive collection of 36 modern and fashionable shades. The mini 5ml bottle allows every woman to mix and match her favourite hue.

(As per http://www.lorealparis.com.au)

Gorgeous color ain’t it πŸ˜‰

I had been looking for a colour like this and honestly had a hard time getting it. Surprisingly, I got this baby at the humble Health and Glow store πŸ™‚

The colour comes out best with two coats. You can apply a coat of clear polish on top for a super luxurious look πŸ™‚

Report Card πŸ˜€

The Positive:

  • Gorgeous colour-very unique
  • Wide brush for flawless one-stroke application
  • Luxurious packaging

The not-so-positive:

  • Price-too high especially for the quantity
  • Colour started fading from the tips within a couple of days 😦

All in all I am happy with this shade, hoping to get a few more of these beauties.

Hope you found this review helpful, let me know if there are other points that I can include in my next review πŸ™‚

See you later πŸ™‚
