Lotus Herbals Purestay Lipstick Apricot Bliss-Review, Swatch and LOTD

26 May

Hi everyone,

I know I had almost vanished from my blog for quite some time, but I am here now with another review. Today, I’m reviewing a beautiful lipstick from Lotus Purestay range- Apricot Bliss.

What lotus says about the Purestay Lipsticks:

Purestay Lip colour is preservative free, natural, long lasting, hydrating lip colour. One swipe and your lips are ready for a healthier shine all day long without any loss of moisture ensuring a flawless finish. SPF 20 gives UV protection.

Price: Rs. 495/- for 4.2 gms of product.

This is the first time that I have used a Lotus cosmetic product. It comes in a pink satin pouch encased in a cardboard tube. The color looks like a beautiful pink to me. When applied it gives a shiny appearance but settles to a matt finish.

It is a full coverage lipstick and the color would suit Indian skin tones well. It lasted for about 2-3 hrs. on me. It is touted as a long-lasting lipstick and hence is a bit drying on my lips.

The thing I liked most about the product is its color…one of the very few pinks that I have really liked 🙂

Chambor Rouge Plump + no. 774- Review Swatch and LOTD

16 Dec

Hi Everyone,

Today I am reviewing a juicy lipstick from Chambor’s latest collection- Rouge Plump+ in shade no. 774.

Chambor Rouge Plump+ Lipstick no. 774

Chambor Rouge Plump+ Lipstick no. 774

What Chambor says:

Chambor presents Rouge Plump+, the secret to sensuously full lips. A lipstick isn’t just a lipstick anymore. With Chambor, it becomes your beauty secret that helps you get the desired result in plumpness, moisture, colour and a lot more. The new Rouge Plump+ amplifies lips by 25%* giving you sensuously full lips. This has been dermatologist tested and clinically proven.

*Based on actual study conducted on 60 women who used Rouge Plump+, thrice a day for 30 continuous days.

What makes Rouge Plump+ so unique?

The answer in its formula…Rouge Plump+ contains Green Pea Extracts, which boost collagen and elastin production; adding sensuality and volume to your lips. While the cooling and stimulating sensation of menthol in Rouge Plump+ leaves your lips feeling refreshed.

Chambor Rouge Plump+ Lipstick no. 774

Price: Rs. 745/- for 2.5 g

This is a richly textured and highly pigmented lipstick. You need just one swipe to get its full color. Shade no. 774 falls into my favorite ‘rust’ lipcolor with brown undertones. This is a great color for our Indian skintone and instantly livens up the face.

The formula is super moisturizing and the lipstick glides across the lips like a dream. Chambor Rouge Plump+ packaging is similar to its ‘Truly Lasting’ range; only the packaging here has leather like texture.  The lipstick gives a minty sensation like the Revlon Moisture Stay Lipsticks. It stays on for 2-2.5 hours with minimal eating and drinking, but vanishes after a full meal.

Though I love the luxurious feel of the lipstick, I was disappointed to notice that the moisturizing part vanished from my lips in about half an hour.

My Views:

Yays:

  • Super gorgeous color
  • Highly pigmented
  • Moisturizing
  • Smooth texture
  • Decent packaging
  • Wide range of colors to select from

Nays:

  • Mighty expensive
  • Staying power could have been better
  • The moisturizing property vanishes in 30 minutes, leaving the lips a little dry
  • Not sure about the Plumping part-my lips are plumped enough naturally! 😛

Score: 3.75/5

Do you own any of the Chambor Rouge Plump + lipsticks? How did you find it? Do comment below.

Cheers 🙂

Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick Peach Carnation-review and swatches

22 Nov

Namaste beautiful people!

I have warmed up to Lakme’s Absolute collection a little late I know but I am glad I finally did with this beautiful lipstick -Peach Carnation. The Lakme Absolute collection needs no introduction. It has been around for almost a year and loved by most of us.

Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick Peach Carnation

Price:  Rs. 375 (increased to Rs. 395/-) for 3.6 ml of product

It is one of the most loved shades of the range and is pink brown in color -ideal to be worn to office as well as it looks very natural on the lips, especially on Indian skin tones. I too got this one after I read its review by a fellow beauty blogger.

For me it is my MLBB shade (my lips but better) Looks very natural. Despite being matte, these glide super smoothly, feels light and the lips feel a little moisturized too. But if you have dry lips then it can make them look drier.

Colorbar Take Me As I am Lipcolor-Flirtatious Pink Review and Swatches

18 Oct

Hello beautiful people and a Happy Navratri to my Indian friends,

This is my first lipcolor review and I would be talking about Colorbar Take Me As I Am lipcolor  in flirtatious pink….what…wait a minute… Pink?Moi???? Known for never loving this color, it came as a bit (no, a huge!) surprise to me when I tried it on.

I wanted to try Colorbar Take Me As I am Lipcolors as soon as I got to know about them. And headed to its exclusive store in an uber cool mall. Honestly, it has only been my utter fondness for the Colorbar lipsticks that takes me to that store. There is only one SA available whenever I have been there,  least interested in showing things, not friendly and this time she was chewing a gum with her mouth open! The lighting in the store especially over the mirrors is insufficient to get a fair idea of the lip color you are trying.

I wasn’t happy with the colors I tried there and though the chewing gum Rani offered to show other lipsticks, I went away.

Somehow, I still wanted to give the chubby pencils another chance. And so when I saw Colorbar’s kiosk at another mall, I asked for these lipsticks once again and zeroed in on this shade 🙂 I was so surprised to find that a pink lippie could look good on me 🙂

It stays on me for about 2 hours with light eating and drinking in-between, but these are super moisturizing and my lips remain soft even as it fades away.

Price: Rs. 699/-  comes with a sharpener- muft! muft! muft!

the ‘muft’ sharpener

there goes my Rs. 6.99 worth of lipstick!

Colorbar Take Me As I Am-Flirtatious Pink on my lips

Quantity: 3.94 gms

Time now for the Report Card…

Yays:

  • Packaging-these cute pudgy lipsticks remind me of Clinique Chubby Sticks
  • Very moisturizing
  • Glide on effortlessly
  • Super soft, so can be used till the tip becomes invisible (if that makes sense)
  • Comes with a muft sharpener

Nays:

  • Low staying power- atleast on my lips
  • Limited shades (eight in all)
  • Expensive
  • Sharpening can lead to product wastage

Score: 3.5/5

Hope you found this post interesting and informative, do leave a comment 🙂

Bye for now 🙂
