Report Card:

Yays:

  • Gorgeous color
  • Very opaque
  • Dries fairly quickly
  • Reasonably priced (seeing many of the popular nail enamels cost Rs. 200 and above now)
  • Lot of color options in this new range of Revlon nail colors

Nays:

  • Low staying power (for me)
  • Stained my nails yellow 😦

Score: 4/5

(yeah, despite the staining part,  it is a beautiful shade, no doubt)

Lotus Herbals Colour Dew Nail Enamel-Rose Petal Review and NOTD

23 Nov

Aloha!

I bring you another Nail Enamel review from a brand I had never tried before-Lotus Herbals.

Lotus Herbals Colour Dew Nail Enamel in Rose Petal is a gorgeous dark pink shade that looks great on Indian skin tones. It is Toluene and DBP free and there are loads of colours to choose from.

Though two coats are sufficient for an opaque finish, but I went ahead and applied the third one too and was delighted to see the nail polish didn’t chip for at least four days!

And to top it, it didn’t leave behind any yellow stains on my nails when I removed it.

Lotus Herbals Colour Dew Nail Enamel- Rose Petal NOTD

Price: Rs. 110/- for 8ml (wow!)

Here’s the Report Card:

Yays:

  • Beautiful Color
  • Dries really fast
  • Doesn’t chip for 4 days atleast
  • At Rs. 110/- it is a grrreeat nail polish!
  • Toluene and DBP free
  • Doesn’t stain the nail

Nays:

Has a long brush, so needs a little practice to work with it; the brush tends to pick up a lot of  product so make sure to scrape it before applying.

Score: 5/5  (:D)

Maybelline Express Finish Turquoise Green-Review and NOTD

7 Nov

Namaste Friends,

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather with loads of shopping sprees, spending time with loved ones and stocking up on beautiful nail colors and make up 😛

Continuing with my Festive Make up mini-series, I am reviewing another gorgeous festival-appropriate nail color-Maybelline Express Finish Turquoise Green.

Maybelline Express Finish Turquoise Green

It is a stunning metallic turquoise color with a hint of peacock blue. Its metallic sheen beautifully reflects light making it an ideal ‘party nail color’ 🙂

Maybelline Express Finish Turquoise Green

The formula of this nail color glides like a dream and dries pretty fast too. The best thing I like about this nail color is its brush- it wonderfully fanned out to cover my entire nail in one go!

Maybelline Express Finish Turquoise Green NOTD

Turquoise Green looks translucent in one coat, so one needs to put on two to three coats to get an opaque color.

Time for the Report Card:

Yays:

  • Brilliant color
  • Smooth texture
  • Awesome brush-coats entire nail in one go
  • Nail polish dries pretty fast-true to its 40 second claim

Nays:

At Rs. 200/-, it might be an expensive nail color for some

Score:

5/5

I am very happy with this nail color, mainly because it applies smoothly, dries fast and the sturdy brush makes applying the nail polish a dream 🙂

Have you got this nail color? How has been your experience?

Enjoy the festive season, do comment below.

Bye for now:)

Maybelline Express Finish Nail Colour-Vintage Mauve Review

1 Nov

Hi everyone,

Today I am reviewing a gorgeous nail color from Maybelline New York’s Express Finish range-‘Vintage Mauve’.

It was an impulse purchase (as is usual while buying a nail paint :P) that turned out to be good.

Maybelline Express Finish Vintage Mauve Review

Price: Rs. 200 for a 10 ml. product

It is a bright color but can be worn easily without looking OTT.

Here’s the Report Card:

Yays:

  •     Cheerful color 🙂
  •     Attractive packaging-I especially like the metallic-steel screw cap
  •     Good quantity

Nays:

  • The nail paint needs to be kept away from direct air while applying because it clumps and becomes thick, making it difficult to apply
  • Rs. 200/- is expensive for a nail colour

Do you like Maybelline’s Express finish range? Which colours do you have?

Do drop in with your comments.

Bye for now, enjoy the gorgeous weather…

Cheers,

Maitri 🙂
